What? I'm paying how much to stay in a tent?

Let me take you inside the world of glamping, or glamorous camping. Some people don't really understand what this is. I've heard people describe it as “grown-up camping” or even “grandma camping.”

In recent years, glamping retreats have taken the accommodation world by storm. Elaborate tents have sprung up in remote locations, with all the comforts of a luxury hotel. Well, that's the plan, anyway.

There's been the odd time I've visited a place that's cold, leaky and miserable – where I became the honorary blood donor for the resident population of mosquitoes. And then there was the time the composting toilet didn’t, well, compost. Enough of that. You've never read about these because I'd never recommended them.
